My musical influences for DV8 have ranged from the blues/rock of seventies bands like ZZ Top, Deep Purple, the Stones and Grand Funk Railroad to Stevie Ray Vaughn, U2 and The Police in the eighties to Foo Fighters and Jet in the nineties and naughties.

My favourite guitarists include Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Ritchie Blackmore, Billy Gibbons, Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young, Albert King, Charlie Baty (Little Charlie and the Nightcats)....mostly guys who play from the heart and the gut with a raw excitement and then there's other outside the box favourites like Earnest Ranglin and Elliot Randall.

As a songwriter there's a lot of influence from different areas that somehow all filters through....DV8 has a fairly specific style that's mostly party rock with a blues influence which comes from previously mentioned artists...with 'Jigzag' my original acoustic band I have violin, upright bass and 3 part harmony so influences include Neil Young, Ben Harper, Jeff Buckley and the Waifs....more singer songwriter stuff. Jigzag tours all the major roots music festivals in Australia and occasionally overseas (Canada, Denmark, Finland, UK, NZ, New Caledonia) and has 3 CDs out... check it out www.jigzag.com

With 'The Drive' my live electronica band I bring rock guitar to trance and dub beats and more of a hooky pop mixed with extended jamming focus. This music has been used for film as well as live and is sometimes ambient with electric wah wah violin and modern dance beats.

I love lots of different musical styles but with DV8 I just love to put my head down, rock hard, get back to my roots and have a party.

I'm Scorpio sun with Pisces rising and a Leo moon for anyone who's interested.

Apart from music I love to practice yoga and meditation and still get to go surfing occasionally.
